Careers in Audiology
While most audiologists work in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, physician’s offices and audiology clinics, some are employed in other areas, such as education. The job outlook for audiologists is quite good. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates it will continue to grow faster than average, at a rate of 13% through 2029. As an upperclassman, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in ongoing research, both here on campus and through research internships at universities and institutions across the country.
Recent science and health majors at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú have participated in research projects at the Mayo Clinic (cell biology), Ohio State University (HIV) and Johns Hopkins University (prostate cancer).

How the Partnership Works: Start at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, Finish Up at Salus University
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s agreement with Salus University’s College of Audiology is composed of two phases.
- Phase I: You apply and are accepted into the Audiology Health Science Program at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú. Salus University will be notified that you are a candidate for one of the medical school seats they reserve for ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students. You then earn your Bachelor of Science in Health Science from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, which includes prerequisites for the Doctor of Audiology Degree Program at Salus University. This generally takes four years.
- Phase II: You “officially” apply to Salus University. Once accepted, you earn you Doctor of Audiology degree.
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú advisors and representatives from Salus University will communicate with you as you advance through Phase I, to ensure that you remain eligible to take advantage of your reserved seat at Salus for Phase II.
